Dr. Stanic joined Atlantis Academy of Palm Beaches as a high school math teacher in May 2016. She teaches Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Consumers Mathematics and Pre-calculus. She holds several patents and has numerous technical papers published in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Stanic graduated with a Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Alberta. Before joining Atlantis Academy Dr. Stanic taught at the University of Alberta, Canada, at the School of Medicine. In addition to her teaching career, she has more than 30 years of research and development experience in the field of materials science and engineering of advanced materials and devices. She began her scientific career with NRC CANMET Energy, a Canadian National Laboratory. In 1999, she moved to the United States and started to work for Teledyne Energy Systems where she directed various research and development activities. She also was the Program Manager and Principal Investigator for several NASA and DoE projects. In 2016, she decided to change careers and become a teacher to have the opportunity to share her passion for math and science with young generations.
